Troubleshoot a private link, closed roster, or unavailable game

Understand why reading a game and participating in it have different requirements.

Before you start: requirements and access
  • The host’s current link or account invitation.

Steps

  1. Check that the full link was copied and ask the host whether the game is still available.
  2. For a private game, sign into the invited account and open the invitation. A private game does not become public because someone forwards a link.
  3. If the plan opens but RSVP is closed, read the lifecycle and roster message. Ask the organizer about reopening responses or your existing roster entry.
  4. If only some actions are unavailable, check your saved RSVP and identity. Going, Maybe, and Waitlisted can participate in chat; Pending and read-only link viewers cannot. Scoring has stricter rules.
